BEIJING, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.04 percent, at 3,315.43 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.27 percent higher at 12,487.13 points.
Turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at about 1.16 trillion yuan (about 173 billion U.S. dollars), exceeding 1 trillion yuan for seven consecutive trading days.
Stocks related to new energy and education logged big gains, while those related to bulk commodities such as coals were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.99 percent to close at 2,710.14 points Monday.
