DUBLIN, Ireland - Investigations are continuing into Sunday night's drama at Dublin Airport when a man tried to smuggle more than half a million euro worth of drugs in his luggage.
The drugs were seized by Revenue Customs Service after the man's luggage was searched.
The man was subsequently arrested and taken to a Garda Station in North County Dublin.
The saga began to unfold around 5:00pm late Sunday afternoon when the man who arrived at Dublin Airport was stopped by Revenue Customs officers, and a search of his luggage was initiated.
During the course of the search, approximately 27kg of cannabis was found. The value of drugs seized is estimated at €540,000.
The man arrested, who is aged in his 60s, remains detained while investigations continue.
